How do I register to vote in Wake County?
Complete and mail a voter registration application by the deadline to register or to update your address.
Please review the college address standards to make sure you are providing full address information. It is important that you provide a valid address we can use to determine where you live and send you a voter card.
Is my Wake County dorm or apartment a valid address for registering to vote in Wake County?
Yes. Students who have been a resident of their Wake County address for at least 30 days before the date of the next election may register to vote in Wake County.
If I register to vote in Wake County, will my registration in my North Carolina home county be removed?
Yes.
If I register to vote in Wake County, will I become eligible for in-state tuition?
Registering to vote in Wake County establishes residency for voting purposes only. Contact your school’s admissions office for more information.
I prefer not to register to vote in Wake County. What other options do I have?
