The area is currently served by the Creedmoor Fire Department and Northern Wake Fire Department, but it is outside of any station's five-mile response boundaries. Building a new station would allow for quicker response times and lower insurance premiums for most residents.

Public Hearing: Oct. 21
Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to the provisions of N.C.G.S. §153A-303, the Wake County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing during its regular Board Meeting on Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, at 2 p.m. in the Wake County Justice Center on a proposal to expand Wake County Fire Tax District for the purpose of funding fire and rescue services for the properties in the most northwestern part of Wake County.
A map of the proposed expanded service district is found in the Extension of Service District report below. Questions should be addressed to Darrell Alford, Wake County Fire & Emergency Management director. Any person wishing to comment in writing, prior to the public hearing, may do so by forwarding comments to the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners at yvonne.gilyard@wake.gov.
